“It matters what matters we use to think other matters with; it matters what stories we tell to tell other stories with; it matters what knots knot knots, what thoughts think thoughts, what descriptions describe descriptions, what ties tie ties. It matters what stories make worlds, what worlds make stories— Donna J. Haraway

2026 Readings

Our readings in 2026 take us to the small archive of North Australian STS texts. In commencing our reading, Helen Verran has introduced these texts to us as an archive articulating a historical move in political philosophy of knowledge that began in the Australian academy in the late 1980s.

Helen’s short introduction to our 2026 reading can be found here:On an historical intervention in the Australian academy: Recognising First Nations’ epistemic traditions and their significance for governance.’
